Saccharomyces cerevisiae GenDR Dietary Restriction Gene Manipulation: ATG1

Gene Information (Entrez Gene ID: 852695)

Symbol
ATG1
Aliases
APG1 AUT3 CVT10
Name
serine/threonine protein kinase ATG1
Organism
Saccharomyces cerevisiae (AnAge)
Entrez Gene ID
852695

Potential relevance to dietary restriction and ageing

Observations

Yeast cells were subjected to dietary restriction (0.05% glucose compared to 2% glucose as a control). Deletion of ATG1 resulted in a 18% decrease in mean replicative lifespan compared to the control.
