smk-1 RNAi only slightly shortens the lifespan of wild-type worms, but abolishes the extended lifespan of eat-2 mutants. Loss of smk-1 by temperature sensitive allele suppresses the extended lifespan under optimal bacterial dilution DR, but not the response to DR itself [2340].
