These animals have been reported to live up to 19 years [0522], which is not impossible but appears a bit dubious. Estimates of animals living 18.6 years in the wild have been reported [0434]. There are also anecdotal reports of some animals living more than 20 years. These are common animals in zoos, however, and record longevity in captivity is only 15.2 years [0671]. Further studies are necessary.
