Observations

One study in the wild found that females can live over 31 years [1091]. Moreover, one male of the coquereli subspecies lived 30.5 years at the Duke University Primate Center [0671]. Infant survival of old females drops, but a decline in fertility has been reported in some of the oldest females [0540]. One study in the wild found that mortality increases and fertility seems to decline after age 18, though one female gave birth at the age of 28 and lived at least to the age of 29 [1084].
