Observations: Little is known about the longevity of these animals, but they may live 25 years in captivity [0671]. In one study the age of a wild Indo-Pacific humpback dolphin was estimated to be 40 years. This dolphin also demonstrated age-related hearing loss, the high-frequency cut-off was 30-40 kHz lower than a younger dolphin [1237].
