Potential relevance to the human ageing process
- Main reason for selection
- Entry selected based on evidence showing that the gene product to be a target of genes previously linked to ageing
- Description
Essential in cell cycle progression, TAF1 is also involved in transcription as part of the TFIID transcription factor together with TBP [891]. There is no direct evidence linking TAF1 to human ageing, but due to TAF1's importance in cell cycle control and its relation with other proteins previously related to ageing, TAF1 might play some role in human ageing.
